Thinking

of going private with this blog. I'm not sure if I am or not, so bear with me as I try and figure it out. Until I do, I wont be updating. Here's one of the latest shots of Aubrey to tie you over in the meantime.

Five months already!!

I know that I said that I'd do updates other then Aubrey ones, but I had to post her five month update first:) She's getting to be, or should I say continuing to be, quite the little pudge! She's doing new things every day, rolling over, putting her feet in her mouth, putting her soother in her mouth by herself... the right way too... laughing at pretty much anything, wearing six month and up clothes and just being a sweet, good natured kid all the time. My only problem is that she's not sleeping enough, but this has been my battle with her since the day she was born. She doesn't want to sleep during the day, and when she does it is for these little cat-naps that last about a half hour. Lately she been getting up every hour and a half to two hours at night(used to go at least three) and it's getting a little old! She has been teething though, so we've been summing it up to that and the fact that she is just a night owl. She is putting everything and anything into her mouth and is gnawing the crap out of it! I can feel a little something in her bottom gums, so we'll see if that pans out and when. All in all, she is just a sweet heart and the best thing in the world!!

Aubrey at five months... quite the chunk now too at 16.5 pounds
Her face is a little creepy in this shot...

Turning over a new leaf... or back to an old one...

So I was reading through some of my old blog posts from Grenada and realized that I used to write about the most random things, not just Aubrey updates... I guess I really didn't have much of a choice seeing as to how she was not born yet. The craziest things used to happen to me and just happen in general so therefore I blogged. But re-reading them made me miss it, and writing in general. So I have decided to try and blog more and not just more updates on Aubrey (don't get all panicky, I'll still post pictures and let you know how she is doing)......I'm doomed now, I've said out loud that I want to blog more and in doing so it means that I will fail miserably. So This is the start of it... but I guess not really since I mentioned Aubrey... did it again... must try harder next time...

Random happenings of the past few weeks

So the past few weeks have been kinda busy. I said in my last post that I'd put up some pictures from when Dennis and Anna came to visit so here they are. While they were here we tried to cram in as much as we could into the five days. Two days in Manhattan, two days of golfing, for Zach and Dennis, and shopping for Anna and I and the last day was checking out our town. We had a blast while they were here and it was nice to have someone else to help with Aubrey (which Anna did, threatening the entire time that she'd take Aubrey home with her!!) and show off where we live. We also were all over the fact that we could house guests without having them sleep on the floor in our room or on the kitchen floor like in Grenada. Never want to do that again, a second bedroom is so amazing to have... so is having a bathroom that you don't have to walk through to get out of your bedroom. Nope, can't say I miss our Grenada apartment!! Anyway... moving on... The trip was great and I think they feel the same. Since they left Zach went back to work at the hospital... technically back to school, but pretty much working there and he's really missing his surgery rotation. He's in Internal Medicine and it's pretty boring compared to what he's used to. He's luckily been able to get some papers to work on so it's not too dull, but it does mean that he's been going from one hospital in Newark to the other in Livingston (he rotates at both) in one day. Meaning he leaves at about 7am (late compared to his 4:30am mornings during surgery) and doesn't get home until around 7 or 8pm. Good times. Aubrey is growing like a weed(I think I say that every time, but it's true) and is teething. She's drooling like crazy and we can see that her bottom teeth are starting to try and push their way through. She's a slobbery mess and is having a hard time sleeping at night... ergo, I'm having a hard time sleeping at night. She's lifting her head off the ground all the time, rolling over and getting stuck on her stomach(except for the one time she rolled onto her back again, hasn't done it since though) and giggling more then ever. She is pretty much too cute for words! So I'll let the pictures tell you:) Zach's parents where also just here(actually left today), but I'll leave the pictures and stories from their trip for the next post.... assuming I remember to do that within the next month...

Feelin' pretty good...

I'm feeling pretty proud of myself right now, I got to say! I'm posting two days in a row, not just twice yearly:) I just wanted to put up some pictures from the time that I got home to the time Dennis and Anna came to visit. Zach and I had a week to ourselves and we tried to cram in as much as we could in that time. We went to Connecticut for a day and tried to check out a few local touristy things as well. Aubrey went into the water for the first time and loved it. It was just a shame that we didn't bring our swimsuits or else we could have gone in the water all the way. We also did a lot of random things around the house that we've been putting of for quite some time now. All in all it was a great time spent as a family...still feels weird to say/write that. Aubrey is growing like a weed, laughing, rolling over from back to front and just pretty much an awesome kid all around. Zach barely lets her out of his sights and wants to hold/squish/cuddle/kiss her all the time. Time apart was hard for all of us and that was why it was particularly great to have that week together. Well, enough explaining!! On to the pictures:)

Wearing the jumper that she got from one of Zach's mom's co-workers, Natalie.

Still needing some help, but she's sitting better now

What happened to August????

So a lot has happened in the last few weeks. I've been to Canada and back and a few places in between. Life has been hectic to say the least and thus the lack of posting... not that I need an excuse not to post, I seem to have trouble doing it even when I technically have the time! So like I said, I went to Canada to visit family and friends for what was supposed to be two and a half weeks, but I ended up staying another week because my great-aunt Liese, who was like a Grandma to me, passed away and I wanted to stay for the funeral. I'm glad that I did, but it was hard to be apart from Zach for that long, and even harder for him to be apart from Aubrey! We had a great time seeing people even though it was not enough time to see everyone that we wanted, as much as we wanted, but now we're happy to be home:) Aubrey did great on the flights, there and back and also to Edmonton in between. We went to Edmonton with Zach's mom and aunt to visit Aubrey's great-grandparents, grandma and grandpa Liner. That trip was great too as it turned into a bit of a Liner family reunion and a lot of the aunts, uncle and cousins showed up as well. My sister Astrid and her husband Jo were in Abbotsford with their kids the same time that we were and it was awesome to see them again. They had never met Aubrey so I was pretty eager to show her off! I've been home for a few weeks now and a few funs things have happened in that time, but I'll focus on the trip home in this post and then go from there in the next few. Anyway, I'll post pictures now... keep in mind that I took a few hundred on this trip so bear with me as I try and narrow them down...
