"And On That Drive We Saw A...."

In my last post I talked about our drive through Georgia and South Carolina and that particular drive ended up leading us to Greenville, SC.

It's about two hours from our place and it was recommended to us by one of Zach's co-workers.
Zach's dad was in town for a few days and we wanted to show him some surrounding areas.

We were originally going to head out to Asheville NC, but when we got here, well, we decided to hang out here instead...I'm assuming you can understand why....

To be honest, I forget the name of the historic park we went to, but it was right smack-dab in the middle of town and it was FABULOUS!

We had driven in search of Fall (also known as head-t'wards-the-North Carolina-mountains) and we found smidgens of it here...

It seriously was one of the cutest towns/parks I've been to...and that's saying something. I've been to a lot of amazing places in this here the U S of A.

And Aubrey, well, she was Aubrey...

She had a blast climbing on random stone walls, riding her new bike (from Grandpa) and exploring!

We even got a decent family shot! Yay!

I actually felt like I was in England, to be honest.... the trees, the scenery, the broken down Textile Mill and it's random remaining walls....heavenly!

I highly recommend Greenville....seriously....GO.

It was such a fabulous Fall day (although from most of these pictures you'd think it was summer) and we had a great time just wandering around.

I have a thing for random old signs on the sides of buildings...

And this one was awesome....as was our day :)

Went a Little Crazy...

It's bound to happen when your daughter's going to be a flower girl and you go into Jo-Ann's to find some materials to make her a hair accessory.

Seriously, I'm in love with the kit I bought.

It was $9.99, and includes all this....

Before I found this, I had a pretty button in my hand...which cost $5 on it's own, highway robbery. After buying the alligator clips and proper fabric to make the rosettes I had in mind, I would have been WAY over $10. The kit has the color fabric I wanted (and pre-cut!) and all the fixin's to make it! Win Win!
Plus I can make a bunch more rosette clip/pins with fabulous buttons, which is a complete bonus. Maybe I'll make myself a little somethin' somethin'....

Speaking of buttons....

I couldn't help myself! These were on sale, soooo in the cart they went. I'm thinking of using the middle one for Aubrey's flower girl hair clip thingy...we'll see.

Bought some tulle too, going to add this to the hair clip.
I better watch it, or she's going look like one of the two crazy sister's from William and Kate's wedding....

Mason Jar Love and Flea Markets

When Blogger had it's mini melt down, I lost this post that I had written and it was so wonderfully restored to me in draft format a few days later....missing all I had written. Nice. Thanks. But I keep looking back at these jars and today I finally thought; hey, I'm gonna post these. So here they are. The End.
No, I'm kidding, you're going to have to listen to more of my rambling today--you're welcome.
{side note--how gorgeous are these peonies?!?}
Zach had this weekend off and by some random miracle decided not to write one of his 129,458 pending papers he has on deck. YAY!! Aubrey and I got him all to ourselves....mainly because we don't know a soul here in Augusta, but hey, I'm not letting that get me down!! Ok, maybe a little, but I didn't dwell on that this weekend *Insert pat on own back*
I somehow conned Zach into checking out a local flea market that Amy found for me (yes, friend from NJ found my flea market here for me...that's because she's a great friend!). And let me tell you, it was local (read hick). BUT to be honest it was better than I thought it was going to be and we found a really cool vintage wooden Coke bottle crate and that made it all worth while! I'll post pictures tomorrow.
I guess I thought it was going to be one of those cute flea markets that I always see on people's blogs, but to be fair, those people live in California so it's gonna be classier. There is another flea market that we're going to check out when Amy gets here (IN A WEEK!!!) and maybe that'll be better....maybe...
At one point Zach burst out laughing and I tore my eyes away from the giant bin of sewing notions, to see him holding up a bag full of random hotel soaps that were for sale. Seriously. He said that made it officially worth the trip out for him. He seriously brings that up every few hours now, "hey, remember that bag full of hotel soap for sale?!? That was awesome."
The rest of the weekend was filled with frozen yogurt, our backyard pool and LOTS of playing and it was wonderful! Too bad he doesn't have a day off in sight for the next three weeks.....

Looking Through Rose Colored Glasses....

The last few weekends I've had a standing date with Amy on Sundays....not that we don't hang out every other chance we can get ;) But Sundays are just us, no kids, and it's blissful...even if it only lasts for an hour! This last weekend we went to the Rose Garden's in Lyndhurst(NY) to get our photography on, let's just say we had a blast (duh) and I could not be more in love with roses at the moment! There were over 400 different kinds there, seriously, that's a LOT of roses. I don't have time to do a lengthy blog post today, so I'll let the pictures do the talking for me....and, as usual, there are offensive amounts of them. Um, I may or my not have taken 422 pictures that day....aren't you glad that I whittled them down for you ;)

Packing/moving update....the move happens next Sunday and as of today, I'm at the point where it's the last minute things that need to be packed. I am done "cooking" as of today and it's sandwiches and take out from here on out...not to mention paper plates, etc. Sorry environment, you're about to take a hit. I'm fixin' (yup, getting ready with my "Southern" talk) to pack up dishes, pots, etc.... and not buy any more groceries...we'll see how that goes! My BFF Marcy(ohp, and her husband Tom) get here on Wednesday and are coming with packing bells on! SO happy they'll be here for that transition...hopefully I'll sob/wail/scream/cry a little less because of it...here's to hoping. But before allllll that happens, we have to do the ever stressful border run to renew our visa's. If you could all keep us in your prayers, that would be GREATLY appreciated. We have everything in order, and it should go smooth (Lord willing), but you never know and it's going to be a LONG day. It's 6 hours (drive) to the border and we're planning to go there and back in a day....see what I mean about needing the prayer?!? And no, we never do anything the easy way. The Lord seems to love stretching us to the max in these cases.
