One Month and Charleston....

Blog title of the year right?! Man I'm amazing. I bet you all missed my amazingness (and my snazzy blog titles) while I was MIA... sorry world, didn't mean to deprive you of my awesomeness for so long.
Apparently I'm not one of those bloggers who pops out a baby and blogs from the hospital.
Speaking of baby....

Caleb--one month old!

isn't he the most beautiful thing EVER?!? Well, one of two of the most beautiful things (that Aubrey is pretty freaking amazing). Seriously, this child is in the running for Best Baby of the Century. No jokes, he's sleeping through the night people.... through. the. night
I'm under no illusions that this will continue, but I am hoping and praying it will! Last night he slept from 9:30pm until 7:15am.
seriously. ser. i. ous. ly! Aubrey didn't sleep through the night until she was almost 15 months old. It's amazing how much calmer a mom I can be this time around!
The above shot is from his one month mini-shoot, he's two months old tomorrow....where did time go?? And my little moose is weighing in at 13lbs 11oz! He's getting his chub on and we're loving it.
I'll post more pictures of Caleb and Aubrey next time (that one was the only one I had edited on my desktop--Thanks PicMonkey website!), but for now I will leave you with random shots that I took this last trip to Charleston. We headed there while Zach's mom was visiting and I'm happy to say that the beauty, charm and gorgeousness that is Charleston has not worn off and was not a hyped-up-first-time-there-so-I-was-in-a-daze type of love... my love for that city is real people and it will not die! Enjoy....

Doors, Windows, Shutters....

pretty much a schmozzle of random pictures to wrap up my Charleston trip.

Not gonna lie there are more, but I figure I've drawn out this Charleston thing a little too long (insert nervous laughter).

But as I keep saying, there was so much to look at and we pretty much just wandered for the 2 days we were there, so that makes for a lot of pictures!

To sum up....

I love Charleston (duh)...

I love random windows, doors, balconies...

I love fun trips with my little family....

I LOVE that Zach stopped along the way to Charleston for me to take some pictures of a beat-up fire truck and a rusted out Ford...

I love history....

I love that I do not remotely have enough words in this frazzled brain of mine to fill up this post...

I lied, I don't love that....

blah blah blah....

*sigh*

Too many pictures....even for me....

Oooooo pretty wall!

Now I've just gone a little crazy...

yup, skipped one...

Ohp, skipped another ;)...

Last one! They're done.
Pretty, but done.
Now I can move on with my life.

And maybe post some of the Christmas pictures that I took and somehow lost in the shuffle of all this Charleston hubbub.
Anyone sick of hearing the word Charleston yet?!?

On The Second Day Of Charleston....

My true love gave to me....

I wish! Could you imagine having any one of these places?!?

I mean COME ON!!

So much beautifulness everywhere it makes my heart hurt.
Yes, I know it's dramatic, but it's true.

Just another city to add to my long list of "I want to live there"....

And this view out your window??

This next place I call "The Kliewer's of Charleston"...

We had a rockin' awesome Oldsmobile station wagon when I was a kid... and well into my teen years... and I just thought to myself, "man, even if my parents had moved into this house, they'd have kept their beloved station wagon too". Seriously, had that thing not completely died on my parents (after something like 20 years), it would still be their vehicle of choice.

The ironwork everywhere was SO fabulous!

The house above reminds me of my sister's in England... LOVE it!

And this one with the climbing vines and brick on the side?! Where do I sign??

Round Two...

Sooooo, these are still shots from our first day....
See? Told you there were lots.
And let's just clarify that this is, indeed, me narrowing them down.
Okay, now that we got that clear...

My sister commented on my last post saying that Charleston reminded her of Grenada, and if it weren't for the fact that I completely agree with her, I'd be killing myself laughing at that comment!

But again, to clarify, in my mind I felt like Charleston is what Grenada could look like if they tried.
The problem in Grenada was that everything was still beat up and looking kinda war-torn, an no one cared.
It was hard to see that the country had SO much potential and they did nothing about it (this is my opinion and a generalization... and me being a bit jaded from living there for 2 years and experiencing the "real" Grenada).

But Charleston did have that feel, or maybe I should say a strong Caribbean feel.
It's funny that Astrid even made that comment, because I had said the same thing to Zach on the first day in Charleston, this COULD be Grenada.

Even the downtown market made me think of Grenada (again the Grenada version was totally beat up and full of flies, but you get the point).
Charleston was such a mish-mash of the Caribbean, Boston, England... all rolled into one.
And having traveled to each of those places, Zach and I felt like we were transported to each random place at various times.
It was coastal, city, old world... everything, such a perfect mix of them all.

And it all felt so perfectly preserved/restored.

There were so many times when I felt like I was in England and then BAM, palm tree. They were everywhere along the streets and I loved them!

And all these little random Inn's/B&B's were SO England too.

The gas lanterns everywhere were gorgeous! Almost every house had one.

Anyway, moving on (for now, more Charleston tomorrow....you sick of it yet?!? Oh well, get over it.)
Here it is folks, my awkward Charleston "hey Zach get a shot of my belly because I don't really have any" picture... annnnnnnd then instantly regretted the impromptu photo shoot because it was plain ol' awkward....

I'm getting the "ohhhh any day now" looks...
and I'm 30.5 weeks.
Yup, that's 30.5 weeks.... not 40.
I'm not lying when I say I'm big, I think I need to buy new pants... I can't see how my maternity pants from Aubrey are going to keep up to this ginormous belly. They're already at max capacity. Oy vey.

And just because it was cute...and super funny :) Aubrey wanted to take a picture by the same palm tree and was hollering at me "is daddy behind the tree?!?" right when I took this, but the kid didn't want to stop posing or smiling! What a little model. We didn't end up getting a shot of just her, just a bunch with Zach in the background and her talking through clenched, smiling teeth telling him to move (of course he wouldn't).
It. Was. Awesome.
