Hanging on....

Am I the only person who has issues taking down the Christmas decor??
(Don't worry, the tree is down because it was a fire hazard! Seriously, could not walk past the tree without hearing that horrible needle shedding sound. I cringe just thinking about it!)
The house always feels so empty right after the decor comes down.
I guess that's why I still have all the garland, and lights around the house....
can't bring myself to do it. All the really Christmasy stuff is down, now it just looks festive and I feel that it's kinda like a security blanket of sorts. A weaning process, if you will!
Now I wonder how long it's going to take me to wean....
Hopefully not as long as my parents, they're notorious for keeping trees up too long!
One year it was up until March! MARCH! But in their defence, that was to prove a point to my sister. She went on a trip after Christmas and loudly announced that she thought the tree would still be up when she returned! And my dad got it in his head that we'd prove her right.
Nothing like explaining to everyone why your tree is still up! A bit mortifying as a teen.
So I guess this 'not letting go' is in my genes....

LOL, Jen. You are not the only one. But I like when it all comes down so I can reorganize... as you might imagine I am not all that organize to begin with makes it feel all clean and tidy though.
